RWTH Professors Appointed to the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts

The North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts has appointed 18 new members, including the RWTH professors Jochen Kreusel, Jun Okuda, and Stefanie Reese. Among other responsiblilites, Academy members provide advice to the NRW state government on research funding.

Professor Jun Okuda, born in 1957 in Osaka, Japan, studied Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University. After obtaining his doctorate and post-doctoral lecturing qualification from TU Munich, Okuda accepted professorships at Philipps-Universität Marburg and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Since 2003, Okuda has been Professor of Organometallic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University.

Stephanie Reese has been Professor of Applied Mechanics at RWTH Aachen since 2009. Reese, born in 1965 in Hameln, studied Civil Engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover and received her doctorate from TU Darmstadt. Subsequently she accepted professorships at Ruhr University Bochum and TU Braunschweig.

Professor Jochen Kreusel studied Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen; since 2000, he has been Lecturer in "Power Economics in Liberalized Electricity Markets." Since 2008, he has been an honorary professor at RWTH Aachen.
