Participants register online. All interested individuals, regardless of tournament experience, can register. All participants must register as present with the tournament director by 12 noon the day of the event.
The participation fee is five Euros per person.
The top three players will receive a certificate, medal, and prize.
The tournament is played in two performance classes. Hobby and novice players compete in the hobby class and players with tournament and league experience compete in the professional class. The system is arranged in such a way so that every player can play as many games as possible. The number of games depends on the number of registrations, which is determined after the registration deadline. The draw for the individual matches is determined according to the Swiss ladder system. The goal of the system is to ensure that in a round players face other players who have performed comparably in the tournament thus far. Two players never face each other twice. Thus, the tournament remains exciting and suspenseful till the very end. The tournament director reserves the right to deviate from the playing system if there is a low number of participants.
Rules of the Game
The tournament is played according to the official rules of the German Badminton Association.
Players decide whether they wish to play with plastic or natural shuttlecocks. Participants must bring their own natural shuttlecocks. The University Sports Center will provide the plastic shuttlecocks.
